There Is No One Right Way to Start Solids
Every family is different and every baby is different. Whether you are leaning toward baby led weaning, purees, or a combination approach, I help you figure out what makes sense for your baby and your family and set you up for success from the very first bite.
Who I Help
I work with families who are feeling unsure about when or how to start solids, babies who are gagging, refusing, or struggling with textures, families navigating picky eating in the early stages, babies who need extra support transitioning from bottle or breast to solid foods, and parents who want guidance on safe food preparation and progression.

Determining the right feeding approach for your family.
Guidance on appropriate textures and how to prepare foods safely.

Common Questions about Starting Solids
When is my baby ready to start solids?
Most babies show signs of readiness around 6 months, though some are ready a little earlier or later. Signs include sitting with minimal support, showing interest in food, and having good head and neck control. I help you assess readiness and take the guesswork out of the timing.
What is the difference between baby led weaning and purees?
Baby led weaning offers soft finger foods from the start and lets your baby self feed. Purees are spoon fed smooth or mashed foods. Both approaches work well and many families combine them. I help you figure out which approach fits your baby and your lifestyle.
My baby gags every time I offer solids. Is that normal?
Some gagging is completely normal as babies learn to manage food in their mouths. But frequent intense gagging, vomiting, or distress around mealtimes is worth evaluating. I can help you determine whether what you’re seeing is typical or needs support.
