Frequently Asked Questions

When should I see a lactation consultant?

You can reach out before your baby arrives or whenever you have feeding concerns. I help with painful latch, breast and bottle feeding difficulties, milk supply questions, bottle refusal, and feeding aversions. You don’t have to wait until feeding feels unmanageable to ask for support.

Why does breastfeeding hurt?

If breastfeeding hurts, you don’t have to just push through it. During a visit, I’ll watch a feed, assess your baby’s latch and feeding skills and help you work out what to try next. If your symptoms need medical care, I’ll help you connect with the right provider.

What makes St. Johns Feeding different?

My background as both a speech pathologist and IBCLC allows me to assess lactation concerns and your baby’s feeding skills together. During home visits, I explain what I’m noticing, talk through your options and help you find practical next steps that fit your family.

Who helps with tongue tie feeding issues in Jacksonville, FL?

I offer in-home feeding assessments in Jacksonville, St. Johns, and St. Augustine. I look at how your baby’s tongue moves and functions during breast or bottle feeding, then discuss feeding strategies and whether further evaluation may be helpful.
